Is the Constitution a Partisan Document?
JB Williams
0

From all outward appearances, one would think that the U.S. Constitution is a partisan document loved and revered by the political right, so-called republicans, conservatives or constitutionalists, and hated or at least treated like an old worn out shoe no longer of any use by the political left, often referred to as democrats, liberals or progressives.

Sheeple
Rev. Dr. David M. Berman Th.D.

The only thing more discouraging than President Obama's answers to the moral, political, cultural, and economic situation in America are the numerous "Sheeple." A sheeple is a person who has the body and soul of a person however at the same time has a sheep's mind. They are led by emotions and are looking for a political leader to tell them what he is going to do for them, and why they should not trust their fellow Americans who are prosperous. The sheer numbers of Americans that have no understanding of the principles of liberty found in the Constitution is staggering. I can prove that easily. All you have to do is watch how political ads and speeches move the sheeple one way or another. This is due to their susceptibility to being run by emotions and promises. It's akin to battered wife syndrome where the abuser somehow convinces the abused person that it will be different this time. This happens over and over while the abused wife is getting more and more desperate to believe the words of the abuser, if only for a moment.

Fictionally Fighting Contemplative Spirituality

A Canadian writer has written Castles in the Sand is Carolyn Greene's intriguing novel about the invasion of contemplative spirituality into a traditional Christian college.
Greene is using fiction as a weapon. While the book may not seem like one of the "great stones" hurled by King Uzziah's soldiers, even a small stone, if guided by the Lord, can cause a giant to fall.

NOTE: The Emergent church movement is sweeping through modern Christendom. Many articles and a few books have been written critical of this movement, for there are numerous problems associated with it. Conversely, there are valid points attached to the movement that need to be considered – this article does touch on that. However, the primary purpose of this report is to wrestle with the underlying currents that drive the Emergent mood.

The seven most important questions
Ray Comfort

I was going to die and there was nothing I could do about it. The only unanswered question was "When?" But I wasn't the only one. Every human being had the same terminal prognosis. As far as I knew, the mortality rate among the world's population was 100%. Death was a huge and unwanted elephant in the room that we were all supposed to quietly accept as a fact of life. No one was to question why death existed and or even ask how we could avoid it. It was bizarre.

Is Modern Israel a Move of God or a Satanic Counterfeit?
Dave Hunt
0

Question: In light of Joshua 21:43-45, and 2 Corinthians 1:20, do you have a list of the specific unfulfilled promises to Israel...not fulfilled by either the initial entering into the Promised Land, and/or by Jesus Christ Himself? It has always been very curious to me that dispensationalism, as a major, influential doctrine within the church (actually, only within the United States, to be more accurate), rose in prominence at precisely the same contemporary time period as political Zionism under Theodor Herzl and the World Jewish Congress (I refer, of course, to the initial publication and promulgation of the Scofield Reference Bible as the crowning achievement of the efforts introduced in America by Darby a few decades earlier in the 19th century). So, is modern Israel a move of God or a satanic counterfeit?

Trying to keep track of the disastrous decisions coming out of the Obama administration is very similar to watching the federal spending "dollars by the second" ticker. It leaves one dizzy. Defense Secretary Robert Gates and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Adm. Mike Mullen are the latest to shed any core principles and bow to the ungodly assault on everything good and decent in our nation by this president.

Know and Grow
Jon Langford

The knowledge of Christ is simply not enough to secure one's salvation. What we learn through scripture is that people are confronted with the knowledge of Christ and have a decision to make; whether to accept him for who he is as the son of God, or to reject him. There is no middle ground. From salvation forward we are to grow by setting ourselves apart from our sin nature (Phil. 2:12-18). If anyone understands this relationship it would be the Apostle Peter. In direct contrast to Peter was a fellow disciple named Judas who would embody the simple knowledge of Christ.

Teen Pregnancy Hype

The mass media is a-buzz over the Alan Guttmacher Institute's "news" on teen pregnancy. Guttmacher and those who advocate free sex for teenagers seem almost gleeful as they misuse the statistics in an effort to destroy abstinence education programs and promote their condom cure-all mantra. To cause as much public panic as possible, the pro-teen-sex activists would have you believe that the teen pregnancy rate has increased across the board for all teenagers ages 13-19. But it is not so.

In 2008, the Forest Service issued a land use plan that environmental organizations didn't like. The Earthjustice Legal Foundation filed a lawsuit on behalf of four environmental groups. The suit took 15 months. The bill to the federal government from Earthjustice was $279,711.40. The Western Environmental Law Center filed another lawsuit challenging the same land use plan. They represented 15 environmental groups and sent the government a bill for $199,830.65. These two outfits claim that seven attorneys spent more than 930 hours (working full time, that's 116 days), at rates between $300 and $650 per hour.

The Unrepenting Repenter
Jim Elliff
0
false
false
The believer in Christ is a lifelong repenter. He begins with repentance and continues in repentance. (Rom. 8:12-13) David sinned giant sins but fell without a stone at the mere finger of the prophet because he was a repenter at heart (2 Sam. 12:7-13). Peter denied Christ three times but suffered three times the remorse until he repented with bitter tears (Mt. 26:75). Every Christian is called a repenter, but he must be a repenting repenter. The Bible assumes the repentant nature of all true believers in its instruction on church discipline. A man unwilling to repent at the loving rebuke of the church can be considered nothing more than "a heathen and a tax collector." (Mt. 18:15-17)
